Members of our community, regardless of their socioeconomic status, can be afforded an equal opportunity to enrich their lives physically, mentally, and socially through the YMCA. Funds raised are returned to the community in the form of scholarship assistance for those who would otherwise be unable to afford to pay the full amount toward a YMCA membership or program. |

2009 Campaign Leadership and Goals
Our Goal for 2009 is $149,000
The North Central Florida YMCA wishes to thank the many individuals, organizations and businesses across north central Florida for their very generous support of the 2009 Strong Kids Campaign. Funds raised through the annual Strong Kids Campaign provide financial assistance to allow all people, regardless of their ability to pay, the opportunity to benefit from YMCA services such as before and after school child care, summer day and resident camps, youth, teen and family programs and health / wellness programs.
Dear YMCA Friend:
Your contribution to the YMCA's Invest in Youth campaign brings safe and fun YMCA programs to children and families throughout the north central Florida region. Every dollar collected goes directly toward providing children in our community with an opportunity to grow and learn in an environment that facilitates positive learning.
As a result of our past successes, the North Central Florida YMCA has been able to extend opportunities and increase access to YMCA programs in extraordinary ways. We started serving the community over 40 years ago with a pool and small office building in Northwest Gainesville. Now we offer YMCA programs in 15 communities within the region and continue to grow every year.
Every expansion shows our dedicated service to the needs of our community.
By combining the 2008 Invest in Youth Campaign contributions with our annual allocation from the United Way and various grants from private and government sources, the YMCA was able to distribute over $700,000 to our scholarship recipients, allowing us to serve youth, families, and individuals who would otherwise not be able to afford to participate.
