The YMCA Sports Department has a goal: to develop respectful athletes within the framework of character development. We are able to achieve this goal by teaching good sportsmanship and social skills in a non-competitive environment. It's about all players showing respect for one another and recognizing that teamwork is the winning strategy. We also know that "Fitness Disguised As Fun" will engage more kids and keep them active, so we also offer a wide variety of interesting activities such as Karate, Gymnastics, Aquatics, and the "Be Fit" kids line throughout the YMCA.
COACHES AND SPONSORS
The YMCA is always looking for coaches and sponsors from the community. Head coaches of youth teams receive a spot for their child on the team at half price. Head coaches of preschool age teams receive a spot for their child on the team at half price.
Team sponsorship is $300. For sponsoring a team, the sponsor receives their company name on the back of the shirts, a sponsor plaque with team picture and a spot for one child on the team at no cost.

Sponsor a Child for 1 Season: $80
Division Sponsorship (soccer only): $1,000
League Sponsorship: $2,500
Preschool Sponsorship: $1,000

Youth Sports Council (YSC): Council will consist of parents and coaches. Council members of the YSC will serve as a contact person for parents and or coaches in their Division. Each season will be compiled of different sub committees such as, the soccer committee and basketball committee. Meetings will be held as needed at the Northwood YMCA to discuss issues involving your Divisions.
