What is the y doing?

The North Central Florida YMCA has been working these past several months to ensure that the Northwood YMCA will have a secure and bright future in Gainesville.

Here are some of the highlights of the steps that have been taken and will continue to be taken to improve our YMCA.

• Consolidated all program operations to Gainesville area
• Closed facilities and ceased operation of programs in Bradford and Putnam counties
• Reduced Administrative Staff positions
• Working to imporove facility and equipment maintenance and repair
• Board of Directors has begun the Keep the Y in Community Campaign to further improve our facility
• Search has begun for a CEO, which should be concluded by May 1, 2012

How can members help?

There are several things that members can do to help save
the North Central Florida YMCA!

• Retain your membership
• Bring in at least one new member (watch for information on a special campaign beginning March 1, 2012)
• Support the effort of the Board of Directors to have a successful Keep the Y in Community Campaign by considering a personal gift to the campaign
  • Mail your donation to Harold Cook, Interim CEO at 5201 NW 34th Street, Gainesville, FL 32605. Checks should be made payable to the North Central Florida YMCA
  • Donate Online Today!
• Ask your employer to consider supporting the Keep the Y in Community Campaign
• Continue to give feedback on how to improve our YMCA by:
