About the YMCA

The NCF YMCA mission
Our mission is to be an inclusive organization of men, women, and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of children, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility.

Character Development
All YMCA programs emphasize the four character development traits - caring, honesty, respect, responsibility. Through discussion, role modeling, and skill development, program leaders help participants develop and practice these character traits. Caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are the cornerstones of YMCA programs for all ages. We build strong kids, strong families, strong communities.

A Welcoming Place
The YMCA of NCF is a place where all are welcome. The YMCA is the center of this community where people meet and discover common needs or interests. This YMCA involves people with different abilities and from varied backgrounds. Everyone belongs at the YMCA.

A Leading Charity
The YMCA of NCF is a charitable organization. Like hospitals and universities, a YMCA is a community asset. Each year, thousands of North Central Floridians invest their time and dollars in the YMCA and it’s strategies for community building.

The YMCA Difference People have known and trusted the YMCA for over 150 years. Now, a new aspect of the YMCA has emerged in the last three decades -- the vital importance of caring for children as part of the family. At the YMCA, as America’s largest childcare provider we understand and do everything we can to care for your child and support your family. Because we are a values-based association, everything we do will develop your child's self-esteem and leadership skills.

Call us today... ...for a conversation about your child's needs. We would be happy to give you a tour of the center most convenient to you.
